Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Deicing Agent to support airport operations in New York. You will perform basic de-icing service on commercial aircraft, inspecting wings for ice and frost, and applying Type 1 and Type 4 fluids to surfaces as needed.

You must hold a valid State driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent, with flexibility for variable shifts, weekends, and holidays; FAA/airport identifications may be required. Safety and communication are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver's license and FAA/airport identifications or authorizations required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; or 1–3 months related experience/training.
• Flexible to work variable shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Shifts determined by administrative staff due to operational needs.
• Able to work extended hours on short notice during irregular operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic de-icing service to commercial aircraft.
• Check aircraft for leading edge ice and frost.
• Apply deice fluid Type 1 and Type 4 to wings, fuselage, and tail.
• Drive large heavy vehicles around aircraft during de-icing operation.
• Accurately account for de-icing fluid transactions.
• Perform daily quality control checks on equipment and vehicles.
• Operate headset/radio to communicate between ground crew, flight crew, and dispatch.
• Provide additional service as required by the operation.
