West Star Aviation in Solon, OH is seeking an Aircraft Composite Technician for DAS Aviation - 997 to repair parts using wet layup and prepregs in a fast-paced MRO environment. This role requires precise measurement, tooling, and quality control to ensure components meet strict FAA standards.

You will work with autoclave/oven cures, operate in a clean room, and collaborate with a skilled team while following safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Airframe and Powerplant License is not required, but welcome.
• Experience as a composite technician is valued (Journeyman 0-5 yrs; Master 5+ yrs).
• Familiarity with wet layup and prepreg processes, clean room procedures, and curing equipment.

What you can expect as a Composite Technician at DAS Aviation:

As Composite technician repairs parts/components by means of "Wet Layup" and "Prepreg". Some repairs must be facilitated using a clean room and cured by means of an autoclave or controlled oven. Types of Composite bonding methods utilized in repair may consist of: Co-curing, Co-bonding, secondary bonding, metal bonding, with adhesives in liquid form, and film.

You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including

• Capable to use close tolerance measuring tools (i.e., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.).
• Capable to use hand tools (i.e., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.).
• Ability to perform alignment/assembly using jig, templates and fixtures.
• PPE must be used when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding
• Extensive use of bagging materials
• Able to properly bag for a wide range of component shapes and styles.
• Capable of using a "Hot-Bonder" type machine cure procedure.
• Maintenance, cleaning and repair of shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
• Safely operate shop equipment such as: curing oven, autoclave, vacuum
• Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Your Education

What you’ll need to bring with you:

• A High school diploma or equivalent. Airframe and Powerplant License is not required, but welcome.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience

• Journeyman: 0-5 years of experience as composite technician.
• Master: 5+ years’ experience as a composite technician.
