Position Details

Aircraft Component Technician II in GAC St. Louis

Compensation

The compensation range for this role is $27.71 - $32.33 per hour. Final compensation will depend on qualifications, knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to interpret blueprints, engineering documents, and use precision measuring tools. Proficient in operating all departmental tools and equipment, including glass bead & carboblast machines. Basic understanding of shop math. Minimum of 2 years' experience in areas such as sheet metal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, troubleshooting electrical systems, battery servicing, APU removal, installation, and servicing.

Position Purpose

Under moderate supervision, repair and overhaul aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components according to Gulfstream standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Apply skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment relevant to the area of specialization.
  • Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies, including removal, repair, replacement, and fabrication of parts, ensuring conformance to maintenance data and repair station requirements.
  • Set up, maintain, and operate test equipment for functional and operational testing of aircraft components.
  • Inspect parts to meet conformity requirements.
  • Remove skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structures, and reinstall parts.
  • Demonstrate effective repair techniques, troubleshooting, soldering, and applying protective coatings.
  • Maintain paperwork in accordance with FAA Repair Station requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Lay out, remove, fabricate, and install repairs on flight controls and secondary structures.
  • Fabricate and repair sheet metal and mechanical parts using various techniques.
  • Remove and install APUs and perform all related maintenance.
  • Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies, including splicing and soldering.
  • Utilize training and tools for troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Assist in training and instruct other technicians.
  • Resolve routine questions and refer complex issues to higher levels.
