Job description

Aircraft Component Technician II in GAC St. Louis

Unique Skills:

The ideal candidate would have previous experience working on flight controls.

Compensation: The range for this role is $27.71 - $32.33 per hour. Final compensation will depend on factors such as qualifications, knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering documents, and use precision measuring tools. Proficient with tools and equipment including glass bead & carboblast machines. Basic understanding of shop math. At least 2 years of related experience in areas such as sheet metal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical systems, battery servicing, or APU maintenance.

Position Purpose: Under moderate supervision, repair and overhaul aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements.

Job Description:

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Apply skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment relevant to the area of specialization.
  2. Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies, including removal, repair, or replacement of defective parts, following blueprints and manuals.
  3. Set up and operate test equipment for functional and operational testing of aircraft components.
  4. Inspect parts to ensure conformity to specifications.
  5. Remove and reinstall skins and components on flight controls and secondary structures.
  6. Demonstrate effective repair techniques, including troubleshooting and soldering.
  7. Maintain paperwork in accordance with FAA Repair Station requirements.
  8. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  9. Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Additional functions include fabricating and repairing sheetmetal, removing and installing APUs, troubleshooting electrical systems, and assisting with training.
