Aircraft Component Technician II in GAC St. Louis

Ideal candidate would have previous experience working on flight controls.

The compensation range for this role is $27.71 - $32.33 per hour.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents, proficiency with precision measuring tools, and operation of tools/equipment including glass bead & carboblast machines. Must have at least 2 years of experience in related fields such as sheet metal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, troubleshooting electrical systems, battery servicing, or APU removal, installation, and servicing.

Position Purpose: Under moderate supervision, repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Apply basic and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment, as appropriate to area of specialization.
  2. Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies through removals, repair or replacement of defective parts, fabrication of replacement parts, and installations in accordance with blueprints, manuals, vendor documents, and authorized maintenance data, ensuring conformance to Repair Station requirements.
  3. Set up, maintain, and operate test equipment to perform functional and operational tests of aircraft components for return to service.
  4. Inspect all parts using blueprints, manuals, and maintenance data to ensure conformity.
  5. Remove skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structures, locate, and reinstall parts.
  6. Demonstrate effective repair techniques including troubleshooting, soldering, and applying protective coatings.
  7. Maintain and utilize all required paperwork in accordance with FAA RS requirements.
  8. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  9. Comply with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Additional Functions:

  1. Lay out, remove, fabricate, and install repairs to flight controls and secondary structures (e.g., honeycomb core sandwich, composite repairs, test bench operations).
  2. Fabricate and repair sheet metal and mechanical parts using appropriate techniques.
  3. Remove and install APUs and perform all required maintenance for Gulfstream aircraft models.
  4. Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies, utilizing splicing, soldering, and pinning techniques.
  5. Utilize training and tools to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
  6. Assist in training and instruct other technicians.
  7. Resolve routine questions and problems, escalating complex issues as needed.
