Job summary

Airbus in Mobile, Alabama seeks an Individual Aircraft Certification Engineer to manage airworthiness approval and certifications for in-service aircraft, focusing on structural and system repair solutions and flight conditions.

You will coordinate with delivery teams, design offices, aviation authorities and customers to maintain compliance, prepare justifications, and issue Certificates of Airworthiness while supporting continuous improvement of certification tools and processes.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering with Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil or Electrical focus.
• 13 years of aviation industry experience in aircraft engineering and knowledge of design, certification and qualification requirements.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor global certification for deviations or issues affecting individual aircraft prior to delivery.
• Coordinate with Airbus and customer delivery teams, site and global certification personnel, design offices, and aviation authorities.
• Prepare justifications and documentation to support aircraft certification.
• Coordinate exemption, waiver, and derogation requests with EASA and national authorities.
• Sign and release the Aircraft Design Declaration attesting compliance with EASA type design, FAA type design, and related changes.
