Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Mobile, Alabama seeks an Individual Aircraft Certification Engineer to lead airworthiness activities for in-service hardware, including deviations and issues before delivery.

The role involves global coordination with customers, design offices, and authorities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will manage certificate issuance (FAA 8100-2), maintain certification tools, and facilitate exemptions with EASA and other authorities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering and extensive aviation experience in design, certification, and qualification.
• Ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements and aviation standards.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal teams and authorities.
• Authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the global certification process for deviations and potential airworthiness issues.
• Coordinate with Airbus teams, customers, design offices and authorities to prepare justifications and documentation for certification.
• Coordinate application and issuance of the iAirworthiness Certificate (FAA Form 8100-2) with the relevant authority.
• Develop and maintain certification management tools (plans, matrices, risk logs).
• Coordinate exemptions with EASA and national authorities as needed.
