Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Tooling Engineer to design, validate, and implement high-quality tooling and fixtures for efficient, safe manufacturing of aircraft structures. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to support new product introduction and production scaling.

The role requires 5+ years in production tooling for air vehicles, CAD proficiency, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production tooling for air vehicles (manned/unmanned).
• Distinguish critical design differences between prototype and production tooling.
• Tooling requirements for composite manufacturing: lamination, curing, trimming, assembly.
• CAD-based design of mechanical parts; knowledge of machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, casting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist air vehicle development teams to ensure manufacturability and validate tooling/tech.
• Provide real-time floor support, resolve tooling issues, improve production processes.
• Perform tolerance stack-up and GD&T analyses for fixtures and assemblies.
• Own and execute tool designs using CAD software.
• Communicate tool access and machine access requirements.
• Select best methods for producing parts, tools, or assemblies.
• Conduct root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
