Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks project/system engineers to join the Advanced Programs Office supporting the UCAV and prototype programs.

You will collaborate with the Chief Engineer and IPT leads to drive integration and execution on a complex aircraft development program. You will independently perform difficult engineering work, coordinate across disciplines, and act as a technical point of contact for Air Vehicle scope, while contributing to technical documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
• Six+ years with a Bachelors, four+ years with a Masters, or two+ years with a PhD; equivalent experience possible.
• Experience with aircraft system integration, prototype or flight test programs is highly desirable.
• Ability to work extended hours and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a prime technical contact for Air Vehicle scope on the UCAV program.
• Lead day‑to‑day Air Vehicle integration coordination across engineering, production, and integration.
• Maintain and drive closure of issue trackers and action lists.
• Analyze aircraft level requirements and flow them down to AV integration tasks.
• Own or support critical program artifacts such as memos, redlines, and flight/airworthiness docs.
• Prepare technical documentation and presentations for reviews.
• Coordinate with electrical, avionics, EWIS, and mission systems teams for AV‑level integration.
• Support manufacturing and integration by troubleshooting AV‑related issues on the production floor.
• Contribute to technical concepts, configuration trades, and integration plans for bids.
• Provide direction to design/technical staff and lead small cross‑functional work packages.
