Job summary

KFS, LLC is seeking an experienced Air Permitting Specialist to lead the nationwide air quality permitting program supporting DoD installations. Based in Huntsville, AL, this role offers a negotiable hybrid schedule and the opportunity to build a nationwide team.

The ideal candidate will have direct air permitting experience with DoD projects, be able to travel across regions, and lead a growing technical team while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong client relations.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience managing air quality permitting and compliance for DoD installations.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• PE license preferred, QEP certification a plus.
• Strong program and budget management abilities.
• Ability to build or scale a nationwide team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the air quality permitting program for military installations nationwide.
• Serve as technical lead for air permitting from scoping to permit issuance.
• Prepare and review air permit applications including Title V and NSR.
• Ensure compliance with Clean Air Act, NSPS, and NESHAP.
• Travel nationwide to support project execution and client relations.
• Build and grow a nationwide air permitting team and hire where needed.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee budgeting and scheduling.
• Support business development and proposals.
