Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking an experienced environmental professional to provide air quality compliance, permitting, and technical support for the natural gas unit. The role may be filled at Specialist or EHS Engineer level depending on skills and experience, with hybrid work arrangements in Houston, TX or Tulsa, OK.

Candidates should have a BS/BA in engineering or environmental science and 3+ years of emissions and permit experience; 5+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience preparing and submitting emissions inventories, air permit applications and other environmental compliance documentation.
• 5+ years of experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting agency rules, regulations, and guidance.
• Knowledge of the Clean Air Act and NSPS/NSR; dispersion modeling experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication; training and liaison with officials experience.
• Proficient with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Complete air permit and compliance submittals.
• Track and interpret air quality regulations; advise management on potential concerns.
• Interact with federal, state and local officials.
• Maintain effective relationships with operations, engineering and business development.
• Plan, organize and oversee assigned air compliance work programs.
• Monitor schedules and budgets; evaluate third‑party contractors.
• Review emissions testing results and inspections.
• Represent the company on air quality committees.
• Provide 24/7 support for emergency response and reporting requirements.
• Travel up to 20% time away from the office.
• Communicate clearly across multiple business units and with external stakeholders.
• Carry a company cell phone and respond during working and non‑working hours.
• Maintain safety and asset protection as a priority.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
