Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking an air quality specialist/engineer to provide compliance, permitting, and technical support for the natural gas business unit. The role may be filled at Specialist or EHS Engineer level based on experience.

Hybrid schedule with travel up to 20% and duties spanning regulatory analyses, permits, and emissions testing. Education requires a BS/BA in Engineering or Environmental Science.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Engineering, Physical or Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience preparing emissions inventories and air permit applications; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience with LDAR regulations at natural gas processing plants.
• Regulatory analyses including interpretation of agency rules and guidance.
• Knowledge of Clean Air Act and Title V requirements, emission calculations, and dispersion modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to train and interact with officials.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; able to work in a team and independently.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines and travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Complete air permit and compliance submittals.
• Track and interpret air quality regulations and advise management.
• Interact with federal, state, and local officials.
• Maintain relations with operations, engineering and business staff.
• Plan, organize, and oversee assigned air programs.
• Review emissions testing and inspections for compliance.
• Represent the company on air quality industry committees.
• Provide 24/7 support for emergency response and reporting.
• Travel as required; up to 20% time away from office.
