Job summary

Automatic Data Processing, Inc. in the Seattle/Seatac area is seeking a Logistics and Import/Export Operations professional to coordinate branch operations, ensuring timely export/import flows and maintaining a high level of customer service.

You will generate air and ocean bills of lading, arrange carrier bookings, review TSA requirements, manage import documentation, and liaise with customs brokers and overseas agents. The role includes light warehouse tasks and forklift operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Familiar with international freight forwarding operations both Air and Ocean.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Forklift safety certification. TSA training completed.
• Certified to handle Dangerous Goods when receiving, storing, handling, or releasing freight.
• Ability to use basic math skills to calculate freight, storage, duty and other charges.

Responsibilities

• Generate air and ocean bills of lading and supporting export shipment documentation to ensure freight can be processed and efficiently exported.
• Contact trucking companies to arrange for pickup of customer's freight and book export shipments.
• Review procedures and implement TSA safety regulations as developed by the Head Office.
• Arrange for import documentation pickup at the airlines and review documents for US Customs.
• Coordinate with outside Customs Brokers to clear imports in a timely manner.
• Correspond with overseas agents and provide quotations and proposals for the sales staff.
• Contact customers who have not shipped regularly to determine shipping status and perform telephone sales.
• Complete light warehouse work including operating a forklift and receiving freight, TSA checks, label freight for export.
• Perform devanning and loading sea freight containers, pallet/ULD building.
• Maintain client inventory and handle pick & pack per 3PL requirements.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
