Job summary

Altius Talent is assisting a Swedish privately owned freight forwarder in Houston to hire an Air and Ocean Freight Specialist. You will own end-to-end shipments, coordinating air and ocean imports and exports from booking through documentation and delivery.

You will work directly with clients, carriers and overseas agents, ensuring accuracy under pressure and timely updates throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in freight forwarding (air and ocean).
• Familiar with INCOTERMS, shipping docs, and customs processes.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and respond quickly to clients.
• Experience in forwarding, not warehousing or domestic trucking.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate air and ocean shipments end-to-end from booking to delivery.
• Prepare documentation: MBLs, HBLs, AWBs, invoices and certificates of origin.
• File ISF and AMS, book carriers and co-loaders, and manage customs clearance.
• Track shipments and update clients, flag issues early.

Job description

A Swedish privately owned freight forwarder is adding an Air and Ocean Freight Specialist to its Houston team. You would manage international shipments end to end across both air and ocean, import and export, taking each file from booking through documentation, customs clearance and delivery. It is a role with genuine ownership, working directly with clients, carriers and overseas agents.

Day to day

• Coordinate air and ocean shipments, both import and export, from booking through to delivery.
• Prepare the documentation, including MBLs, HBLs, AWBs, commercial invoices and certificates of origin.
• File ISF and AMS, book carriers and co-loaders, and manage customs clearance.
• Track shipments and keep clients updated, flagging any problems early.

You'll fit if

• You have at least 2 years in freight forwarding across air and ocean.
• You are comfortable with INCOTERMS, shipping documents and customs processes.
• You work accurately under pressure and respond quickly to clients.
• Your background is in forwarding, not warehousing or domestic trucking.
