Job summary

Air Methods in Bartow, FL seeks an experienced Helicopter Pilot to transport medical crews and patients under VFR conditions. Responsibilities include safety-first aircraft operation, pre-flight duties, and coordination with medical teams in a 24/7 EMS environment.

The role requires extensive rotor-wing flight experience, Category hours, and an ATP/FAA medical certificate. A sign-on bonus of $15,000 is offered for new hires.

Qualifications

• 2000 total flight hours with minimum 1500 in category.
• 1000 PIC hours in category.
• 500 rotor wing turbine time.
• 200 cross-country hours; at least 50 hours at night.
• 100 night PIC hours (NVG may substitute 100 hours).
• 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category.
• Commercial & Instrument Rating for category and class.
• ATP rating in category required.
• First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.

Responsibilities

• Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally.
• Complete pre-flight checks and sign Daily Flight Log.
• Maintain authority for aircraft operations and safety.
• Ensure medical team is familiar with aircraft systems.
• Complete required documentation.
• Conduct detailed flight planning on short notice.
• Participate in meetings, projects, and outreach.
