Job summary

Air Methods seeks a Helicopter Pilot to join our Bartow, FL operation, operating EC135 helicopters under VFR conditions. This role includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus for new hires and a schedule on a 7/7 12-hour shift pattern, with a focus on safety and patient transport.

The position requires FAA credentials, flight hours in the rotorcraft category, and strong adherence to FAR/AIM/GOM policies, as well as collaboration with EMS teams and hospitals to deliver timely air medical services.

Qualifications

• AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with 2–5 years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates Air Methods' aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
• Completes pre-flight checks verifying airworthiness by sign-off of Daily Flight Log.
• Final authority with regard to operations of aircraft and safety of passengers, cargo and equipment.
• Familiarity with medical interior and systems of backup aircraft.
• Completes required documentation.
• Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
• Participates in meetings, projects, committees and community outreach.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
