Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Services Paramedic for MCES - Ground Transport, part-time, to provide direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the emergency services provider and to perform essential procedures to implement the care plan.

Required: high school diploma or GED and CAHEA/CAHEP EMT-paramedic program with three years pre-hospital experience; valid driver’s license, NR EMP, MS Paramedic within 2 weeks of hire; BLS and ACLS

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and completion of CAHEA or CAHEP EMT-paramedic program.
• Three years of related pre-hospital experience required.
• Current paramedic certification and state licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responds to campus emergencies as requested.
• Assists in triage and patient assessment with other healthcare providers.
• Assists with resuscitation and airway management under physician direction.
• Maintains accurate records and reports changes to the EMS provider.
• Transports patients to procedures and inpatient care areas.
