Responsibilities

  • Track cargo arrivals via web for origin and warehouses.
  • Receive customer transmissions and route to warehouses before flight arrival.
  • Report missing documents or packages to customer service and origin.
  • Enter and forward transmissions to generate the operation.
  • Generate notices of arrival to the warehouse and send dispatch.
  • Generate invoices for freight and handling on cargo arrival.
  • Issue letters to airlines within established times.
  • Coordinate sending documents to customers by courier.
  • Issue insurance per customer service instruction.
  • Comply with customs transmissions per regulations.
  • Notify clients of cargo arrival.
  • Daily tracking of all pending flights and delays.

Job description

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

SUMMARY: The Air Import Specialist will be responsible for coordinating, airlines, and clients the status of the handling of the flights and the arrival of the shipments, offering a quality service with both the Suppliers and customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Track the arrivals of cargo via web, with JAS origin and warehouses / warehouse.
  • Receive the customer service transmissions, and send them to the warehouses / warehouses before 8 hours arrival of the flight.
  • Report missing documents / packages to customer service, origin and customer.
  • Enter forward the transmissions sent by customer services to generate the operation.
  • Generate the notice of arrival of the cargo to the warehouse / fiscal warehouse send the dispatch.
  • Generate the invoice for freight and handling of the operation as soon as the cargo arrives.
  • Generate bad letters to the airlines in the established times.
  • Coordinate the sending of documents to customers by courier.
  • Issue Insurance according to customer service instruction.
  • Comply with customs transmissions at the time regulated by customs.
  • Notify the client of the arrival of their cargo immediately.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds. This position requires employee to frequently work in a fluid, fast paced environment.

In accordance with Illinois state law, we are committed to providing pay transparency to all job applicants. For this position, the annual pay range is $60,000 - $65,000 depending on qualifications and experience. This range represents the full BASE compensation potential for this role, and the specific compensation offered to the selected candidate will be based on factors such as skills, experience, and other relevant qualifications.

In addition to base salary, JAS Forwarding offers a comprehensive benefits package, including dental, vision, and health insurance, 401(k), bonuses (depending on role) etc.

Management retains discretion to add or change duties of this position at any time.
