Job summary

Saalex is seeking a Computational Systems Engineer to architect and implement Red Hat OpenShift environments for air-gapped HPC systems at China Lake, CA. You will drive automation via Ansible and AAP, develop VM provisioning workflows, and produce clear operational documentation to support long-term sustainment.

The role requires deep OpenShift expertise in secure environments, strong Linux administration, and experience with virtualization technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or SA credential required.
Deep expertise with Red Hat OpenShift in air-gapped/disconnected environments.
Proficiency with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform for enterprise-scale automation.
Strong Linux systems administration experience.
Experience with virtualization technologies (KubeVirt/OpenShift Virtualization) and VM lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

Architect and design Red Hat OpenShift solutions for air-gapped HPC environments, including offline installation and update strategies.
Lead initial implementation and evolution of OpenShift clusters, AAP workflows, and IaC solutions.
Develop and refine Ansible playbooks and AAP workflows to automate VM provisioning and configuration.
Create automation that enables general System Administrators to perform routine tasks.
Produce comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and operational guides.
