The Air Freight Operations Specialist will manage end-to-end shipments, coordinate with airlines and overseas partners, and ensure documentation accuracy.

The role requires hands-on air freight experience, familiarity with AWBs and freight procedures, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in air freight forwarding, including both imports and exports.
• Knowledge of international air freight procedures.
• Experience managing shipments from booking through delivery.
• Strong knowledge of freight documentation and AWBs.
• Experience dealing with airlines, agents and transport providers.

Air Freight Operations Specialist

Are you an experienced Air Freight Operator looking for a new opportunity with an established international freight forwarding business?

I’m currently working on behalf of a well-established global logistics and freight forwarding company that is expanding its operations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and we’re looking to speak with experienced Air Freight professionals.

This is a hands‑on operational role where you’ll be responsible for managing international air freight shipments from booking through to final delivery, while working closely with customers, airlines, overseas agents, carriers and internal teams.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing the day‑to‑day air freight operation, including:

• Managing international air import and export shipments from start to finish
• Coordinating bookings with airlines and overseas partners
• Preparing and checking shipping and export documentation
• Managing AWBs, commercial invoices, packing lists and other relevant documentation
• Liaising with airlines, handling agents, customs brokers and transport providers
• Tracking shipments and providing customers with regular updates
• Handling any operational issues and working to resolve them quickly
• Ensuring shipments move within agreed deadlines and service requirements
• Maintaining accurate shipment records and updating internal systems
• Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and overseas agents
• Supporting quotations and rates where required

About You

We’re looking for someone with solid hands‑on air freight forwarding experience, ideally covering both imports and exports.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience within an air freight forwarding environment
• Good knowledge of international air freight procedures
• Experience managing shipments from booking through to delivery
• Strong knowledge of freight documentation and AWBs
• Experience dealing with airlines, agents and transport providers
• Good customer service and communication skills
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments at once
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving

This could suit an experienced Air Freight Coordinator, Air Export Operator, Air Import Operator or Air Freight Specialist looking to join a growing international operation.

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Salary: $55,000–$70,000 depending on experience
