Job summary

Yusen Logistics Americas Inc. is seeking an Export Agent to facilitate air and ocean cargo shipments, from booking to confirmation. You will receive shipping instructions, handle documentation, and ensure compliance with TSA and IMDG guidelines while maintaining excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include monitoring shipments, coordinating with carriers, and building strong customer relationships. Prior logistics experience and proficiency with Windows/Microsoft Office are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 6 months to 3 years of related experience.
• Prior logistics/freight forwarding experience preferred.
• Basic to intermediate Windows/Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Excellent customer service skills and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written requests and respond clearly.

Responsibilities

• Take booking requests and secure bookings at current rates, routing shipments per procedures.
• Communicate with carriers and locations regarding shipment status and handling.
• Monitor shipments to completion and keep customers informed of export details.
• Ensure accuracy of export documentation and obtain missing information from customers.
• Build relationships with customers, offices, overseas agents, and service providers.
• Review procedures to ensure compliance with TSA, QA standards, TAPA and IMDG.
• May handle special shipments and accounts, or load/unload cargo as needed.
• Report anomalies and new customer requirements to management.
