Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Air Cooled Chiller Technical Specialist to support engineering teams, troubleshoot complex chiller systems, coordinate testing activities, and help bring new product enhancements to life.

This position is based onsite in our Advanced Engineering and Development Center in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility, or able to relocate. Only US Citizens and Permanent Residents of the US will be considered for this position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of refrigeration system operation, fabrication and service processes.
• Knowledge of mechanical components and systems such as metal structures, machinery and fluid flow.
• Familiar with the product development process.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead test setup for components, sub-systems and complete chillers; communicate test plans to lab operators; monitor progress.
• Arrange procurement and fabrication of parts.
• Organize test data and evaluate measurement accuracy and test plan applicability.
• Coordinate between departments to design, build and test chillers and components.
• Create sketches for drafting and lab designs of chiller components and test setups.
• Troubleshoot chillers, sub-systems and components and recommend solutions.
• Communicate technical information clearly in written, verbal and graphical form.
• Learn codes and standards related to the role.
• Manage complex test-related projects to ensure on-time completion.
• Generate technical documentation related to chiller tests.
