The Georgia World Congress Center is currently seeking an Air Conditioning Mechanic I to join our team. The Air Conditioning Mechanic I shall be responsible for performing routine maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, kitchen equipment, pumping/plumbing systems, and providing engineering services located in the Georgia World Congress Center, Centennial Olympic Park, and associated areas as directed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and operation of all physical plant systems and kitchen equipment as assigned.
- Plan, organize, prioritize, and assign work to ensure high-quality service delivery to internal and external customers.
- Provide direct supervision to staff as required to ensure maintenance standards are met.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training engineering department personnel.
- Participate in departmental meetings and other required meetings.
- Initiate and complete work orders to maintain equipment operation.
- Maintain environmental conditions for customer comfort.
- Maintain records of refrigerant usage as required by federal law.
- Maintain relationships with companies operating within the center.
- Prepare purchase requests and operate within budget constraints.
- Perform duties that may include irregular work schedules and tasks outside standard job specifications.
- Represent the organization professionally, emphasizing high service levels.
- Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- At least six (6) years of experience as an air conditioning mechanic, with three (3) years in a supervisory role, required.
- Preferably, two (2) years of experience servicing a multi-purpose facility with major events.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Georgia Conditioned Air Contractors license (non-restricted);
- ACCA, Universal Technician, Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification;
- Boiler Certification (may be substituted based on experience);
- Refrigeration certification from a technical school (preferred).
