Job summary

ACF, Inc. in Palm Beach County is seeking an Air Compressor Service Technician to perform shop and field repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of air compressors and components. You will support Northern Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, the ability to read schematics, and the discipline to work in non-climate controlled environments. Overnight travel may be required; safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of related work experience or training.
• Refrigeration recovery experience required.
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Motor Vehicle Record must be in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of compressed air systems and accessories.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during and after hours as directed.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on compressed air systems and accessories.
• Read and interpret manuals, electrical schematics, and work orders for maintenance tasks.
• Drive company vehicle to job sites; overnight travel may be required.

Air Compressor Service Technician- Palm Beach County

Service Technicians are responsible for performing shop and/orfield repairs, maintenance service and troubleshooting of aircompressors and its components. This technician willsupport Northern Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform technical skills including but not limited to,mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of compressedair systems and accessories
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of compressed airsystems and/or accessories both during normal working hours andafter-hours, weekends, and holidays as directed
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance service and/orrepairs of compressed air systems and/or accessories
• Read and interpret operational manuals, electrical schematics,general compressed air equipment literature, and work orders toperform required maintenance and/or repairs
• Perform basic mathematical calculations; including butlimited to, totaling work orders and basic compressed air formulas
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters andmaterial handling equipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report themand any other unusual situations to the service manager in atimely manner
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderlyshop work areas, company vehicles, and job site work areas
• Drive company vehicle to and from job sites throughout theday. Overnight travel by land and/or air may be required on occasion

Additional Job Functions

• May perform work requiring the use of welding tools, winch,pulley, hoist and/or pallet jack
• May be required to tow a trailer or portable air compressorusing Company vehicle

Experience and Skills

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (includingphysical and work environment)

• Working knowledge of compressed air systems and itscomponents, including knowledge of the mechanical operation,associated hazards, and proper usage of the equipment
• Ability to interpret schematics and operational manuals forpractical application on repair and maintenance tasks
• Working knowledge of fundamental mathematical operations
• Ability to take preventative safety measures to avoidelectrical shock, limit exposure to loud noises, and preventpersonal injury by using personal protective equipment, includingthe use of NFPA 70E protective equipment when applicable
• Skilled usage of mechanical tools utilized to repair andmaintain compressed air systems and their components
• Must have Refrigeration Recovery Experience
• Ability to perform duties in non-climate controlledenvironments such as outdoor weather conditions and non-weatherrelated wet, humid and/or extreme heat conditions
• Position requires extended periods of standing, extendedperiods of sitting while driving, as well as bending, pulling,pushing, reaching, kneeling, squatting and the use of hands tofinger, handle and feel
• Ability to lift and/or move heavy objects up to 100 lbsthrought the work day

Minimum Job Qualifications (education, workexperience, licenses/certifications)

• High School or equivalent (GED)
• 5 to 7 years of related work experience or training orequivalent combination of both education and experience
• Motor Vehicle Record must be in good standing and comply withCompany policy
• Experience on Ingersoll Rand, Atlas Copco, Quincy, Kaeser,Sullair, Gardner Denver, Kobelco, Boge, Kaishan compressors are a plus
