Job summary

ACF, Inc. is seeking an Install Technician for its Air Compressor Division in Orlando. The role focuses on installing and modifying compressed air piping and components, performing emergency repairs, and interpreting manuals and schematics to complete installations.

The candidate will use hand tools, meters, and lifting equipment, while maintaining safety and reporting issues to the Install Manager. Overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 5–7 years related experience or training.
• MVR must be in good standing per company policy.
• Experience with major compressor brands is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and modify compressed air piping and components.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during and after hours.
• Read manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform installations.
• Perform basic calculations and use various measurement tools.
• Operate hand/power tools, meters, and handling equipment.
• Report faults to Install Manager and maintain safety standards.
• Drive company vehicle between job sites; may travel overnight.

Install Technician- Air Compressor Division

Install Technicians are responsible for installing/modifyingcompressed air piping and its components.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform technical skills including but not limited to,mechanical, electrical, installation and modification of compressedair systems and accessories
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of compressed airsystems and/or accessories both during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends, and holidays as directed
• Read and interpret operational manuals, piping schematics,general compressed air equipment literature, and work orders toperform installation and/or modifications
• Perform basic mathematical calculations; including but notlimited to, measuring and basic formulas
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, andmaterial handling equipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report themand any other unusual situations to the Install Manager in a timely manner
• Comply with safety regulations. Maintain clean and orderlyshop work areas, company vehicles, and job site work areas.
• Drive company vehicle to and from job sites throughout theday. Overnight travel by land and/or air may be required.

Additional Job Functions

• May perform work requiring the use of welding tools, winch,pulley, hoist and/or pallet jack
• Will be required to tow a trailer or portable air compressorusing Company vehicle

Experience and Skills

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (including physical and work environment)

• Working knowledge of compressed air systems and itscomponents, including knowledge of the mechanical operation,associated hazards, and proper usage of the equipment
• Ability to interpret schematics/drawings
• Working knowledge of fundamental mathematical operations
• Ability to take preventative safety measures to avoidelectrical shock, limit exposure to loud noises, and preventpersonal injury by using personal protective equipment, includingthe use of NFPA 70E protective equipment when applicable
• Skilled usage of mechanical tools utilized to assemble andrepair compressed air systems and their components
• Ability to perform duties in non-climate-controlledenvironments such as outdoor weather conditions and non-weatherrelated wet, humid and/or extreme heat conditions
• Position requires extended periods of standing, extendedperiods of sitting while driving, as well as bending, pulling,pushing, reaching, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and the use ofhands to finger, grasp, handle and feel often in repetitive motion
• Ability to handle heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. offorce occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently,and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects.
• Ability to install piping at heights up to 50 feet
• Requires the ability to speak in a manner that conveysdetailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Ability to hear by receiving detailed verbal information or bymaking distinction in sounds at normal speaking levels with orwithout correction.
• Visual sharpness to operate motor vehicles and heavy equipmentin a safe manner with or without correction.

Minimum Job Qualifications (education, workexperience, licenses/certifications)

• High School or equivalent (GED)
• 5 to 7 years of related work experience or training orequivalent combination of both education and experience
• Motor Vehicle Record must be in good standing and comply withCompany policy
• Experience on Ingersoll Rand, Atlas Copco, Quincy, Kaeser,Sullair, Gardner Denver, Kobelco, Boge, Kaishan compressors are a plus
