Field Service Technician- Air Compressor Division
We are seeking a highly qualified air compressor technicianwho is experienced troubleshooting a variety of compressor makesand models.
Service Technicians are responsible for performing shop and/orfield repairs, maintenance service and troubleshooting of aircompressors and its components.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform technical skills including but not limited to,mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of compressedair systems and accessories
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of compressed airsystems and/or accessories both during normal working hours andafter-hours, weekends, and holidays as directed
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance service and/orrepairs of compressed air systems and/or accessories
- Read and interpret operational manuals, electrical schematics,general compressed air equipment literature, and work orders toperform required maintenance and/or repairs
- Perform basic mathematical calculations; including but notlimited to, totaling work orders and basic compressed air formulas
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters andmaterial handling equipment in performing duties
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report themand any other unusual situations to the service manager in atimely manner
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderlyshop work areas, company vehicles, and job site work areas
- Drive company vehicle to and from job sites throughout theday. Overnight travel by land and/or air may be required on occasion
- Must be able to work overnight shifts as needed
Additional Job Functions
- May perform work requiring the use of welding tools, winch,pulley, hoist and/or pallet jack
- May be required to tow a trailer or portable air compressorusing Company vehicle
Experience and Skills
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (including physical andwork environment)
- Working knowledge of compressed air systems and its components,including knowledge of the mechanical operation, associated hazards,and proper usage of the equipment
- Ability to interpret schematics and operational manuals forpractical application on repair and maintenance tasks
- Working knowledge of fundamental mathematical operations
- Ability to take preventative safety measures to avoid electricalshock, limit exposure to loud noises, and prevent personal injury byusing personal protective equipment, including the use of NFPA 70Eprotective equipment when applicable
- Skilled usage of mechanical tools utilized to repair and maintaincompressed air systems and their components
- Ability to perform duties in non-climate controlled environmentssuch as outdoor weather conditions and non-weather related wet,humid and/or extreme heat conditions
- Position requires extended periods of standing, extended periodsof sitting while driving, as well as bending, pulling, pushing,reaching, kneeling, squatting and the use of hands to finger, handleand feel
- Ability to lift and/or move heavy objects up to 100 lbs throughoutthe work day
Minimum Job Qualifications (education, work experience, licenses/certifications)
- High School or equivalent (GED)
- 5 to 7 years of related work experience or training or equivalentcombination of both education and experience
- Motor Vehicle Record must be in good standing and comply withCompany policy
- Experience on Ingersoll Rand, Atlas Copco, Quincy, Kaeser,Sullair, Gardner Denver, Kobelco, Boge, Kaishan compressors are a plus
