Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania invites applications for an Aide Trainee at the Selinsgrove Center. You will learn to care for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, participate in a six month probation, and progress to a Residential Services Aide.

You will perform ISP support, training, progress monitoring, teamwork, environmental support, and advocate for residents’ rights. The position offers paid training, full-time hours, and no telework option.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required; training provided.
• You must meet the PA residency requirement.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
• A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• ISP Support: Assist with completing assigned portions of assessments and planning documents to ensure accurate information.
• Training Implementation: Conduct assigned training activities to help individuals learn daily living skills.
• Progress Monitoring: Record and report information to support updates and improvements to each individual’s support plan.
• Team Participation: Share observations and insights with team members to support coordinated care.
• Environmental Support: Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic living environment.
• Advocacy and Respect: Model appropriate behavior and uphold individual rights and dignity.
