The role supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development under supervision. Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • At least one year of experience working with children and/or a certificate in Early Childhood Education, or currently pursuing an Early Childhood Education credential.
  • Must successfully complete required background and pre-employment screenings.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
  • Understanding of the needs and developmental abilities of young children.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play that encourage learning and development.
  • Appropriately supervise children at all times and maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist children with activities of daily living (diapering, restroom, feeding, dressing).
  • Assist with developmentally appropriate daily activities and experiences.
  • Help create a clean, organized, welcoming, and safe classroom environment.
  • Assist Lead Teacher with curriculum implementation and daily activities.
  • Support classroom management and routines with the Lead Teacher.
  • Complete required Procare communications regarding children’s daily activities.

Job Summary

TheELC Teacher Aideworks collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and ELC team to provide a caring, safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages6 weeks through 5 years. The Teacher Aide works under the direct supervision of the Lead Teacher and assists in providing programming and care designed to meet the individual needs of each child.

The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, attentive, and enthusiastic about working with young children. This position plays an important role in supporting children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while maintaining a safe and welcoming classroom environment.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play that encourage learning and stimulate social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Appropriately supervise children at all times and maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist children with activities of daily living, including diapering, restroom use, feeding, dressing, and other personal-care needs.
  • Assist with facilitating daily activities and experiences that are developmentally appropriate for young children.
  • Help create and maintain a classroom environment that is clean, organized, welcoming, and safe.
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing curriculum and planning and preparing daily activities.
  • Support the Lead Teacher with classroom management and the implementation of routines and expectations.
  • Complete required Procare communications regarding children's daily activities, including eating, sleeping, diapering, and other pertinent information.
  • Communicate regularly with the Lead Teacher regarding children's needs, development, behavior, and overall care.
  • Establish and maintain a professional, positive rapport with children and their families while providing quality care and friendly service.
  • Work collaboratively with classroom staff and other ELC team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
  • Maintain a professional self-image and consistently represent the values and mission of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the ELC program.
Job Requirements
  • Must be at least16 years of age.
  • At leastone year of experience working with childrenand/or a certificate in Early Childhood Education, or currently working toward completion of an Early Childhood Education credential.
  • Must successfully complete required background and pre-employment screenings.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
  • Understanding of the unique needs and developmental abilities of young children.
  • Ability to establish appropriate expectations based on each child's developmental level.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely use basic office machinery and equipment.
  • Dependable transportation.
