Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an Extended Care Aide to provide a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for students in before- and after-school programs.

Under supervision, you will supervise students, assist with activities and homework, and model Catholic values. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework is preferred.
• Experience with school-age children in classroom, childcare, camp, or similar setting preferred.
• Ability to supervise groups of children while maintaining a safe, positive, and engaging environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students before, during, and after-school extended care programs.
• Ensure safety and well-being by maintaining appropriate supervision at all times.
• Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
• Assist students with homework and encourage responsibility and independence.
• Maintain a positive, welcoming, and faith-centered environment reflecting Catholic values.
• Lead students in prayer and model Christian behavior through words and actions.
• Promote respectful interactions and assist with positive behavior management using school policies.
• Communicate student concerns, injuries, or behavioral issues to staff and parents as appropriate.
• Maintain attendance records and follow sign-in/sign-out procedures.
• Assist with snack distribution while following health and allergy guidelines.
• Keep classrooms and activity areas clean, organized, and ready for daily use.
• Follow diocesan and school policies regarding child safety and confidentiality.
• Participate in staff meetings, required training, and professional development opportunities.

Job Summary

The Extended Care Aide provides a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for students participating in the school's before- and/or after-school extended care program. Working under the direction of the Extended Care Director or Principal, the aide supervises students, assists with activities and homework, and supports the mission of Catholic education by modeling Christian values and fostering a caring community.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise students during before-school, after-school, and school break extended care programs.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by maintaining appropriate supervision at all times.
• Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education, child development, or a related field is preferred.
