Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an Extended Care Aide to support supervision and care for students in the before- and/or after-school program at a Catholic school.

The role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming, faith-aligned environment where children can play, learn, and build positive relationships consistent with Catholic education values. Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
• Practicing Catholic preferred; non-Catholics must respect the Catholic identity of the school.
• Ability to supervise children in both indoor and outdoor settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students in the extended care program during designated hours (before school, after school, or both).
• Engage students in age-appropriate games, crafts, physical activity, and other enrichment or quiet-time activities.
• Assist students with homework or reading as needed.
• Provide consistent and respectful behavior management aligned with school and Catholic values.
• Serve snacks and assist with cleanup and basic hygiene when appropriate.
• Ensure students are signed in/out by authorized adults and maintain accurate attendance records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas.
• Communicate any incidents, concerns, or behavior issues to the Extended Care Coordinator or school administration.

Job Summary
