Job summary

Kilgore Independent School District Kilgore Primary School – Kilgore, Texas seeks an Aide, Behavior to assist in instructional and behavior support for students. You will help implement classroom programs, behavior management, and instruction under supervision of the Principal, BIS, and certified teachers.

HD/HSE or GED is required, with a Texas Educational Aide Certificate preferred. CPI training or willingness to obtain it, plus basic computer and software skills, are important for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate or willingness to obtain; district will assist in certification.
• Trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or willingness to complete training.
• Knowledge of basic computer operations and educational software.
• Ability to work with students and teachers effectively.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Preference given to applicants with two years of experience working with children.

Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Assist in providing for the instructional and behavior needs of students. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, behavior management, and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the Principal, Behavior Intervention Specialist, and Certified Teacher.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

High School Diploma / GED required

Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate or willingness to obtain; district will assist in obtaining certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills

Ability to operate personal computer and educational software

Preference will be given to applicants with the following qualifications:
