This position has the primary function of assisting students by providing 504 accommodations. The hours are between 20 and 29 hours per week. There will be training provided.

-Assist in the delivery of accommodations identified in a student's 504 plan.
-Receive training as needed from school specialists, such as behavior support specialists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, or other specialists, to be able to deliver appropriate services.
-Communicate with the school principal, counselor, teachers, and other staff members concerning a student's needs and the implementation of accommodations.
-Attend training as required to perform functions of the 504 accommodations.
-Attend 504 review meetings as needed upon request of the school administrator.

Position Overview

The Aide – 504 supports students who receive accommodations under Section 504 plans by assisting with instructional activities, implementing accommodations, monitoring student behavior, and supporting teachers and staff in meeting individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adapt classroom activities and assignments under the direction of the supervising teacher to meet 504 plan accommodations.
  • Assist students in implementing accommodations identified in their 504 plans.
  • Administer classroom tests, assignments, and make-up work as directed by teachers.
  • Provide immediate first aid or medical assistance as directed by healthcare professionals when necessary.
  • Communicate with teachers, support staff, and parents regarding student progress and accommodations.
  • Implement instructional and behavioral plans designed to support student learning and accommodations.
  • Maintain instructional materials and student records.
  • Monitor students in classrooms and other school settings to maintain a safe environment.
  • Provide individual or group instructional support to reinforce classroom learning objectives.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions related to student support and accommodations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
