Job summary

Position Overview

The Aide – Basic supports the instructional program within assigned classrooms by assisting teachers with instructional activities, working with individual students or small groups, monitoring students in various school settings, and maintaining classroom organization and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and instructional materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts and assist with assignments.
  • Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under teacher supervision.
  • Maintain classroom work areas, equipment, and records to support instructional activities.
  • Monitor students in various school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, hallways, and lunch areas.
  • Communicate with teachers and staff regarding student progress and observations.
  • Report incidents involving student behavior, safety concerns, or accidents to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to emergency situations involving students and ensure appropriate assistance is provided.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions related to job responsibilities.
  • Support classroom teachers and school personnel with instructional and organizational tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience

Job-related experience is desired.
