Our mission is to redefine short-form entertainment by integrating creativity, data-driven insights, and cross-cultural perspectives.
About the Role
The AI Vertical Drama Writer develops original English-language vertical short dramas for U.S. and global audiences, from concept and outline through full scripts and revisions. Working closely with Executive Producers and AI production teams, you turn creative direction into commercially compelling, female-driven stories with strong hooks, emotional payoffs, and memorable visual moments. This is an in-house writing role focused on scripts that engage mobile-first viewers and can be executed effectively through AI-powered production.
Key Responsibilities
Story Development & Writing
- Develop original concepts, characters, series outlines, episode breakdowns, and full scripts with Executive Producers. Write approximately 60–80 episodes per series, generally 1–2 minutes each, with concise dialogue that feels natural to English-speaking audiences.
- Build strong opening hooks, escalating conflicts, reversals, emotional payoffs, monetization points, and cliffhangers. Develop female-driven stories across romance, revenge, billionaire, fantasy, werewolf, mafia, hidden identity, and melodrama, with standout scenes that can support paid ads, trailers, and social content.
- Write visually compelling scripts suited to AI production, considering character consistency, locations, physical interactions, scene complexity, and continuity. Collaborate with AI production teams to resolve difficult scenes and propose achievable alternatives that preserve their emotional impact.
Revisions & Continuous Improvement
- Revise scripts efficiently based on creative notes, production feedback, audience insights, and performance data. Resolve story logic, pacing, and dialogue issues while strengthening audience retention and paid-content conversion.
- Manage multiple writing assignments and revision rounds, maintain clear script versions, and communicate progress and blockers to Executive Producers and production teams to meet fast production deadlines.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- At least 1 year of professional writing experience, with direct experience in vertical short dramas or commercially driven, mobile-first episodic stories. Submit links to produced or released work, your specific writing credits, and relevant script samples; include available performance results you are permitted to share.
- Strong command of vertical drama structure: opening hooks, cliffhangers, reversals, emotional escalation, fast payoffs, and monetization points, supported by commercial storytelling instincts and an understanding of audience retention and paid-content conversion.
- Excellent English-language writing, dialogue, story structure, and script-formatting skills, with a strong understanding of contemporary U.S. culture and audience expectations. Fluent English is required; native-level English writing ability is strongly preferred. Communicational Mandarin is a strong plus.
- Ability to write for AI-powered production, anticipate visual continuity and execution challenges, and propose clear, emotionally effective alternatives without overcomplicated exposition or long-form television pacing.
