Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking an embedded AI leader for the Excess & Surplus unit to drive AI adoption and implement AI-driven transformation across workflows. You will champion AI, shape use cases, and coordinate with BU leadership to deliver measurable outcomes while ensuring WAISP compliance.

You’ll help lead the AI Champions network, collaborate with the AI COE, translate business needs into practical AI solutions, and advance governance and risk controls within a leading P&C insurer.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AI concepts, tools, and practical platforms including LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Knowledge of property and casualty insurance operations relevant to the BU.
• Understanding of change management principles to support adoption.
• Ability to build trusted relationships across business and technical teams.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of concurrent AI initiatives with KPIs.
• Ability to work independently while aligning with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary COE AI evangelist within the assigned BU and promote AI value.
• Identify, shape, and document AI use cases grounded in business need.
• Maintain view of AI proposals, pilots, deployments, and blockers; remove barriers.
• Drive adoption metrics and enable BU-specific AI enablement content.
• Lead the AI Champions cohort and connect with COE resources.
• Translate business needs to AI capabilities and ensure governance compliance.
