Job summary

Wise Skulls LLC seeks an AI Technical Lead to drive Java enterprise applications and Agentic AI workflows. You’ll own architecture, optimize LLM usage, and deliver scalable AI-powered solutions across backend, frontend, and insurance-domain requirements.

Hybrid role in Detroit, MI, 3 days onsite per week, 12+ month W2 contract for USC/GC candidates. Strong Java, Spring Boot, Claude API, and AI tooling experience is required.

Hiring: AI Technical Lead – Java & Agentic AI | Detroit, MI | Hybrid

We're looking for a hands-on AI Technical Lead with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Agentic AI, and Claude API to lead enterprise application development and AI-powered workflow implementation.

Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite/Week)

Duration: 12+ Months of contract on W2 (Long-Term Opportunity)

Work Authorization: USC & GC Candidates Only

Key Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x
• Experience with Oracle JDBC, Callable Statements, stored procedures, and REST API design (JPA/Hibernate not required)
• Frontend development experience with React and TypeScript
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Flyway, Maven, Docker, AWS ECS, and GitLab CI/CD
• Strong experience with Claude API/Anthropic SDK and Agentic AI workflows
• Expertise in prompt engineering, structured outputs, prompt caching, and context window management
• Experience designing multi-step AI agents with tool usage and orchestration
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or equivalent AI-assisted development tools
• Python experience, including FastAPI and data processing with openpyxl
• Experience with integration testing against live databases without mocking
• Understanding of P&C insurance, including rating, policy lifecycle, endorsements, renewals, and Policy Administration Systems (PAS)
