Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking an AI Tech Director to join a growing global AI practice, partnering with CTOs and senior stakeholders to define AI strategy and lead enterprise AI initiatives.

You will mentor engineering teams, shape proposals, and help establish the firm's AI presence in North America while delivering concept-to-production leadership across multiple engagements.

Qualifications

• Experience selling AI ideas, scoping projects, drafting proposals and budgets.

An opportunity to join a growing global AI practice of 30+ specialists across North America and Europe as AI Tech Director and the most senior AI technical leader in North America. Combining executive‑level consulting, technical leadership, and hands‑on expertise, you'll work directly with CTOs and senior stakeholders to define AI strategy, shape architecture, and lead complex initiatives from concept to production. Alongside influencing multimillion‑dollar engagements, you'll mentor engineering teams, drive commercial opportunities, shape proposals, and play a pivotal role in establishing and growing the firm's AI presence in the U.S. market.

Required Skills & Experience

• Commercial consulting experience - ability to sell AI ideas, project scoping, proposals, budget developments


• Software Engineering Leadership background

What You Will Be Doing

Tech Breakdown

• 30% – AI Engineering: Strong Python and TypeScript engineering background, building scalable, production‑ready AI applications.


• 40% – Generative AI & LLM Technologies: LLMs, RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, AI agents, and model evaluation frameworks.


• 30% – AI Architecture & Delivery: Designing, architecting, and delivering complex, enterprise‑scale AI systems from concept through production deployment.

Daily Responsibilities

• 30% – Technical Leadership: Set AI technical direction, define architecture, and guide engineering teams.


• 25% – Client Consulting: Work with CTOs and executive stakeholders to shape AI strategy and advise on solutions.


• 20% – AI Solution Delivery: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of enterprise AI systems.


• 15% – Commercial Leadership: Shape proposals, define project scopes, and influence multimillion‑dollar engagements.


• 10% – Team & Practice Development: Mentor engineers, develop AI capabilities, and grow the firm's U.S. AI presence.
