Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Director of AI Systems and Platforms in the United States to lead a portfolio of AI/ML client work and to act as a hands-on technical leader. You will mentor AI/ML engineers, architects, and data scientists, shape complex engagements, and drive production AI solutions across platforms and MLOps practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, software engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience delivering production AI systems and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to hire, coach, and manage high-performing teams.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI, LLMs, RAG, or agentic AI in production.
• Strong coding ability in Python and SQL; capability to review production code.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop AI/ML engineers, architects, and data scientists.
• Shape and sell complex work; manage capability health and delivery portfolios.
• Architect, prototype, and productionize AI systems including agentic AI and RAG.
• Lead client engagements from discovery to production launch and transition.
• Define architecture decisions, milestones, and quality gates across engagements.
