• Knowledge of AI confidentiality, privilege, data security, and risk in a legal environment

AI & Legal Technology Specialist

Key Responsibilities

1. AI Tool & Workflow Development

• Design, build, and maintain AI-assisted workflows for recurring transactional tasks, including lease and PSA review, loan document comparison, title/survey exception summarization, closing checklist generation, and diligence memo drafting.
• Design, build, and maintain AI-assisted workflows for litigation tasks, including deposition and document review, chronology and timeline development, legal research synthesis, motion and brief drafting assistance, and e-discovery workflows.
• Develop, test, and maintain a firm-wide prompt library and reusable AI templates tailored to real estate and litigation practices.
• Integrate AI tools with existing legal technology and document management systems where appropriate.

2. AI Enablement & Training

• Train attorneys, paralegals, and staff on effective prompt construction, AI tool capabilities and limitations, and practical legal use cases.
• Create internal AI documentation, quick-reference guides, and training materials.
• Provide ongoing support to attorneys and staff using AI in active matters.
• Identify appropriate opportunities for AI adoption while recognizing situations where traditional methods are more appropriate.

3. AI Governance, Ethics & Risk

• Ensure AI tools and workflows are used in a manner consistent with client confidentiality, attorney-client privilege, and protection of work-product material.
• Monitor evolving legal and professional guidance surrounding AI use by attorneys, including applicable New York and national bar guidance.
• Implement verification processes to reduce the risk of hallucinated citations, inaccurate facts, or unsupported AI-generated content.
• Evaluate AI tools for data handling, retention, security, training-on-customer-data practices, intellectual property, and vendor terms.
• Help establish and maintain appropriate AI-use policies and governance procedures within the Firm.
• Evaluate legal AI vendors and platforms through pilots and structured comparisons based on accuracy, security, functionality, and integration requirements.
• Manage relationships with existing AI and legal-technology vendors.
• Monitor the AI/legal technology landscape and identify emerging tools that could benefit the Firm's transactional and litigation practices.

5. AI Measurement & Reporting

• Track AI adoption, utilization, time savings, and quality outcomes across practice groups.
• Gather feedback from attorneys and staff and continuously improve AI workflows and prompt libraries.
• Report AI adoption and workflow results to Firm management.

Required Qualifications — AI Only

• 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing AI or legal-technology solutions within a law firm, corporate legal department, or legal-adjacent professional services environment.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with large language model (LLM) tools, such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Harvey, CoCounsel, or similar legal AI platforms.
• Strong prompt engineering experience, including developing, testing, and refining prompts for professional or legal workflows.
• Experience building AI-assisted workflows, rather than simply using AI tools as an end user.
• Understanding of transactional real estate and/or civil litigation workflows sufficient to identify practical AI use cases and evaluate AI-generated output.
• Knowledge of AI confidentiality, privilege, data security, and risk considerations within a legal environment.
• Experience evaluating AI vendors and tools for accuracy, security, data handling, and integration requirements.
• Strong communication and training skills, with the ability to work directly with attorneys, partners, associates, paralegals, and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple AI implementation, workflow-development, training, and adoption initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications — AI Only

• Advanced degree in data science, information science, computer science, or a related field, combined with legal-industry experience.
• Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), agentic AI workflows, or AI automation.
• Light scripting/no-code automation experience using Python, Power Automate, or similar technologies.
• Previous experience developing a firm-wide AI strategy, AI governance policy, prompt library, or AI training program.
• Familiarity with iManage, NetDocuments, e-discovery platforms, contract analytics, or other legal technology systems.
• Prior experience implementing AI solutions specifically within real estate law, litigation, or other legal professional services environments.
