Job summary

Accela seeks a Head of AI Strategy & Operations to shape enterprise AI strategy, set practical standards, and guide investments that improve how people work and deliver measurable results.

You will work with Product, Engineering, IT, Security, Legal, Privacy, GRC, HR, Finance, Procurement, and leaders to align enterprise requirements with operational needs and to promote responsible AI adoption across functions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in AI, AI strategy, or technology strategy.
• Experience establishing enterprise AI governance, standards, and operating practices.
• Practical experience with LLMs, retrieval, agents, workflow automation, AI evaluation, and AI-assisted development.
• Ability to prioritize opportunities and deliver measurable operational or financial results.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
• Credentials such as IAPP AIGP, ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer, ISACA AAISM, CRISC, or CGEIT.

Responsibilities

• Shape AI strategy; develop enterprise AI strategy and investment priorities.
• Prioritize opportunities and define funded initiatives with clear success measures.
• Lead AI governance with risk categories, review processes, and approval criteria.
• Translate legal, regulatory, and policy obligations into clear security/privacy requirements.
• Define responsibilities and handoffs from experiments to deployment and retirement.
• Maintain portfolio visibility of AI initiatives, tools, owners, investments, and risks.
• Support employee adoption with training, guides, templates, and office hours.
• Build team capabilities by addressing skill gaps and AI goals across functions.
• Guide technology choices; decide when to build, buy, or configure solutions.
• Establish technical standards: access controls, monitoring, incident response, and management.
• Test ideas in practice with prototypes and collaboration with production teams.
• Measure results and costs with an executive scorecard; verify benefits with owners.
• Lead through collaboration and align enterprise requirements with operational needs.
