Merck is seeking an Executive Director, R&D IT AI Technical Strategy Lead to shape and implement AI capabilities for our scientists in R&D. You will partner with IT and R&D leaders to deliver near-term value from AI transformation while ensuring agile delivery across portfolios.

You will lead a team, align business strategy with technology, and stay current on AI/ML trends including generative AI. A strong track record in enterprise IT strategy and change management is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Life Science
• MBA or PhD preferred
• 10+ years in Enterprise/IT architectures or related IT environment
• Experience leading department-wide initiatives in IT strategy and change management

Responsabilités

• Align AI/ML capability strategy with IT and business; track success indicators and adoption plans.
• Understand the pharmaceutical industry tech landscape and business processes.
• Build cross-functional relationships to resolve scientific technology and data problems.
• Stay current with industry trends to identify AI/ML opportunities including generative AI.
• Partner on capability roadmaps; negotiate tradeoffs and staging to maximize value.
• Communicate IT strategy and portfolio to stakeholders; drive digital adoption.
• Lead a team with responsibilities for talent development.
