Job summary

CNA Insurance in Chicago offers a Tech Summer Internship Program designed to shape the future of AI-driven innovation, governance, and workplace transformation. Interns will join cross-functional teams to pilot productivity tools, assess AI risks, and support responsible innovation across the enterprise.

The 10–12 week program features hands-on education in technology and the insurance industry, with mentorship and opportunities to meet senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior (undergraduate) or in the first year of a Master’s program pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Business Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 3.00 GPA (overall and major) required
• Familiarity with digital productivity platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) and interest in AI technologies
• Understanding of basic IT concepts including systems architecture, user experience, and enterprise tooling
• Ability to research, analyze, and communicate technical concepts related to AI and workplace technology
• Strong collaboration skills with ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
• Excellent organizational skills and time management; strong communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CNA’s Digital Workplace Enablement and AI Strategy teams to pilot and evaluate emerging AI tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Web Chat
• Support the development and refinement of AI governance policies, standards, and guidelines
• Conduct risk assessments and testing for generative AI tools
• Partner with business units to optimize AI prompts, data formats, and workflows
• Explore regulatory developments and industry trends to inform CNA’s AI compliance strategy
• Contribute to training materials and awareness campaigns on responsible AI use
• Education in technology and insurance industry and CNA’s organization
• Dedicated manager and mentor to guide you throughout the internship
• Opportunities to meet with senior leadership and learn about technology in the insurance industry
• Professional and personal development activities with ongoing feedback and coaching
• Consideration for potential full-time placement upon graduation
