Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Principal, AI Strategy & Engineering Transformation to turn AI into a repeatable engineering capability. You will define the AI delivery strategy, prototype workflows, and drive adoption across engineering, product, security, and governance teams.

You will lead pilots, translate outcomes into reusable patterns, and ensure safe, scalable AI usage with executive-level impact. This role emphasizes hands-on prototyping and strategic influence across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience across software engineering, developer platforms, technology transformation, or engineering enablement.
• Hands-on experience building AI-assisted workflows, agents, prototypes, or developer automation.
• Strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle, including Git-based workflows, CI/CD, testing, and secure development practices.
• Ability to use programming or scripting, APIs, and automation tooling to build prototypes and evaluation harnesses.
• Proven ability to turn ambiguous opportunities into structured experiments, roadmaps, and clear decisions.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving engineers, senior leaders, platform owners, security, and stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of enterprise security, data governance, responsible AI, and controls for safe AI use in software delivery.
• Proven ability to influence without direct authority, coach technical teams, and drive tool adoption.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including translating technical evidence into executive recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain AI strategy, roadmap, and investment priorities for AI-assisted software engineering.
• Evaluate AI development tools through workflows for capability, security, cost, and operating-model fit.
• Design, prototype, and validate agentic and AI-assisted workflows for coding, testing, docs, and reviews.
• Move ideas from concept to prototype to reusable patterns with productionization support when needed.
• Redesign engineering workflows to reduce friction and identify high-value AI opportunities.
• Lead pilots with engineering teams, capture evidence, and scale successful approaches.
• Establish governance, security, and compliant patterns for AI usage in workflows.
• Define success metrics for adoption, productivity, and business value; provide executive readouts.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data or AI, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
