Job summary

Waymo is seeking a senior AI-focused technologist to act as a domain authority across G&A, mentoring teams and guiding AI investments. You will prototype solutions with large language models, agent frameworks, and workflow orchestration tools to automate cross-functional processes.

Ideal candidates have 8–10 years in data science/engineering and BI, plus 3+ years shipping AI/ML products, with strong Python skills and experience in LangChain, Vertex AI, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8-10 years of professional experience across data science, data engineering and BI disciplines; 3+ years shipping AI/ML products.
• Hands-on experience using GenAI tools to build prototypes and validate requirements.
• Strong Python proficiency and experience with AI/ML frameworks and cloud platforms.
• Experience with GCP, Vertex AI, A2A, MCP and ADK frameworks in enterprise systems.
• Excellent communication skills to explain AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as a domain authority in AI across G&A, mentoring team members and guiding leadership on AI investments and roadmap prioritization.
• Develop and prototype solutions using LLMs, agent frameworks, and workflow orchestration tools.
• Provide technical oversight by code and prompt reviews, system design decisions, and evaluation methodologies.
