Job summary

Aptive partners with federal agencies to advance missions through enhanced communications. We seek a Communications Specialist to support VA AI Strategy, Governance, and Operations, translating complex concepts into clear messages for diverse audiences.

In this role you will draft briefs, talking points, newsletters, and decks; manage SharePoint sites and Teams work areas; coordinate meetings and ensure timely, accurate communications across leadership channels and agency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of communications support in a technical or government environment.
• Experience translating AI/technology concepts into plain language for diverse audiences.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop, draft, and refine written communications products (briefings, talking points, summaries, newsletters, slide decks).
• Manage digital channels (SharePoint, Teams, internal portals) for timely program information.
• Coordinate meetings: agendas, action items, summaries, and follow-through.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and leadership to translate governance concepts for varied audiences.
• Respond to inquiries, triage tasks, and support communications plans aligned with milestones.
