Job summary

Merjent, Inc. is seeking an AI Specialist to advance practical AI across the organization. You will work with the AI Director to help 300+ employees understand and adopt AI tools, improve business processes, automate repetitive work, and organize institutional knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • At least five years in business analysis, process improvement, or related areas.
  • At least 3 years in AI/machine learning tools and technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Excel; familiar with LLMs, automation, and low-code tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead rollout and adoption of AI tools across the company.
  • Develop training, guides, and materials to boost AI literacy.
  • Partner with departments to document workflows and design AI-enabled processes.
  • Document processes and translate requirements into actionable automation plans.
  • Organize data and institutional knowledge for AI-driven solutions.
  • Configure, test, and refine AI agents, automations, and workflows.
  • Gather user feedback and refine solutions for reliability and value.
  • Foster an internal AI champions network and be a go-to resource.
  • Support broader enterprise AI initiatives as needed.

Merjent, Inc. (Merjent) is seeking a motivated AI Specialist to help advance the practical use of artificial intelligence across the company. Working closely with the AI Director, this position will help Merjent's 300+ employees understand, adopt, and effectively use AI tools in their day-to-day work while identifying opportunities to improve business processes, automate repetitive work, and better organize and leverage institutional knowledge.

This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional role for someone who enjoys understanding how work gets done, identifying opportunities to make it better, and helping people successfully adopt new technology. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver and communicator who can work comfortably with both technical and non‑technical colleagues and who is excited to learn new AI tools and methods.

This is a full‑time, remote, benefits‑eligible position based out of our Minneapolis, MN office, with the expectation of some in‑office collaboration. The anticipated salary for this position is $127,800 to $145,500, depending upon the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

responsibilities
  • Support the rollout and adoption of AI tools across Merjent, helping employees understand what's available and how to apply it effectively to their work.
  • Develop and deliver training, guides, and reference materials that build AI literacy and share best practices across teams.
  • Partner with staff across departments to understand existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and design improved, AI‑enabled processes.
  • Document business processes and requirements, translating them into clear, actionable plans for automation and improvement.
  • Help organize, structure, and maintain the company's data and institutional knowledge, so it is accurate, accessible, and ready to support AI‑driven solutions.
  • Assist in configuring, testing, and refining AI agents, automations, and workflows.
  • Gather feedback from users, monitor how solutions perform in practice, and recommend refinements to improve reliability and value.
  • Help cultivate an internal community of AI "champions" and serve as an approachable point of contact for employee questions.
  • Support the AI Director on broader enterprise AI initiatives and other assignments as needed.
qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of five years of professional experience in business analysis, process improvement, technology implementation, consulting, operations, knowledge management, or a related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in AI/machine learning tools and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a natural interest in and experience with determining how processes work and how they can be improved.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical colleagues.
  • Comfort and proficiency with the Microsoft 365 environment (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Copilot, Power Platform); experience with LLMs, automation, and low‑code tools is a plus.
  • Experience with data organization, documentation, or knowledge management.
  • Artificial intelligence consulting experience is a plus.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn new tools and methods quickly and independently, as well as work effectively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple efforts at once.
  • A customer‑service mindset and genuine enthusiasm for helping others succeed with new technology.
