Job summary

Wiley Research seeks an Engineer, Business Solutions to design, build, and deploy AI-powered tools and workflow automations addressing operational problems across Research. Working within the BMSP team, you will translate business needs into technical requirements, build rapid prototypes, and deliver working solutions in weeks rather than quarters.

Collaboration with non-technical stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

3–6 years of software development experience with increasing focus on AI and automation tooling in an enterprise environment.
Experience with large language model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI) and prompt engineering.
Hands-on experience with automation and integration platforms and comfort inside the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into defined technical requirements and working solutions.
Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy AI-powered tools and workflow automations within 90-day sprint cadence.
Develop integrations between Wiley systems (SharePoint, Teams, CRM, publishing platforms) and AI capabilities.
Build rapid prototypes and minimum viable products to validate new approaches quickly.
Ensure tools are reliable, well-documented, and maintainable with clear handoff to operational teams.
