Job summary

Nakupuna Consulting seeks an AI Solutions Engineer to design, develop, and scale retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) solutions in an AWS environment. You will work with DPAA data assets to imagine AI/ML use cases, develop proofs of concept, and plan production deployments with cross‑functional teams.

You will collaborate with customers and mission partners to deliver innovative AI capabilities, integrate with LLM APIs, and ensure DoD compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AI/ML teams to design and evaluate generative AI solutions.
• Engage with customers to understand problems and implement AI solutions.
• Brief customers on adoption strategies and deployment pathways.
• Produce tutorials, sample code, and presentations for varied audiences.
• Provide feedback to product/engineering on roadmaps.
• Build data pipelines and API integrations using Python.
• Utilize AWS AI/ML services for model development and orchestration.
• Manage data with AWS storage solutions (S3, Aurora, OpenSearch).
• Apply vector databases for document retrieval and similarity search.
• Integrate LLM APIs and prompt engineering for retrieval systems.
• Demonstrate DevOps and security awareness on AWS (IAM, VPCs, encryption).
• Containerize and orchestrate with Docker and AWS Lambda/ECS for RAG pipelines.
• Use Lambda to run alert-driven responses.
• Support security operations with AWS-native tools and DoD compliance.
• Evaluate new AWS technologies and modernization paths.
• Develop SOPs and technical docs for operations.
• Follow Agile practices and manage scrums and sprints.
