Dunedain in Austin, TX is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to design and optimize agentic retrieval pipelines using RAG, graph RAG, and LoRA fine-tuning for defense use cases. You will collaborate with product and engineering to ship models that empower faster, more reliable decision making on mission-critical data.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with RAG systems, agentic and graph-based, plus vector databases and model fine-tuning.
• LoRA or similar parameter-efficient fine-tuning methods.
• Strong Python and PyTorch or TensorFlow proficiency.
• Production ML on cloud with Docker/Kubernetes and collaboration with software engineers.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize agentic RAG and graph RAG pipelines for military data retrieval and contextual generation.
• Fine-tune language models for defense applications using LoRA and related methods.
• Build the retrieval backbone: vector databases, graph stores, and indexing strategies that stay fast and relevant at scale.
• Experiment with NLP, NLU, and NLG techniques to push product capability and performance.
• Work with software engineers to deploy models into production with scalability and reliability.
• Partner with engineering and product to integrate ML capabilities into the platform used by end users.
• Provide technical leadership across the product development process.
