Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health, Inc. seeks a Technology Licensing Officer to manage IP agreements and patent matters for AI, software, and digital technologies.

You will draft licensing, SRA, MTA, NDA, and other agreements; direct outside counsel; and strategize commercialization. The ideal candidate has a biology background with 5–8 years licensing experience, strong writing and negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced medical research environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biological Science or JD preferred.
• 5–8 years technology licensing experience in academic, medical center, or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of patent terminology and filing procedures in US and foreign matters.
• Strong writing and verbal skills with MS Word/Excel/Outlook and internet research.
• Team player with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Negotiates and maintains IP agreements including licensing, industrially sponsored research, material/data transfer, and patent management agreements.
• Evaluates new invention disclosures and directs outside patent counsel in drafting and prosecution of patents.
• Develops commercialization strategies for inventions, identifying biotech/pharma/med device licensees.
• Educates researchers on invention disclosures, protection, and licensing in line with policy.
• Enter agreements into TVO IP database and assist with intake from grant portal.
• Assist TVO Finance Analyst with reconciliation of patent counsel invoices.
